Part 1 Router and Host Setup
PC Anywhere can connect home and office computers together to share files over a secure connection to give you access anytime day or night 24/7/365. Setup consists of setting up both a host computer and a remote computer. First we will set up the router and then the Host computer. You can do this from a desktop to a laptop as well, provided that you have the correct laptop parts installed (like a wireless card)
INSTALL pcAnywhere on both computers. Run live update by opening program and clicking on Help > LiveUpdate.

Find your ip address (usually located under the status tab). Write this number down. You will need it in Part 2 of this tutorial. Now click on port range to set your ports at 5631 and 5632. Be sure to enable ports. These ports are located under the Applications & Gaming tab on a Linksys router. Save settings and close browser window. You are now ready to configure pcAnywhere.
